Pilot Crushtec International’s customer was in urgent need of a modular screening plant to crush waste scats material, and placed the order on the Jet Park-based manufacturer’s ability to ship the equipment within a four-week lead time.

Pilot Crushtec International export sales manager Wayne Warren explains that the reason behind the urgency is the current depressed state of the gold price.

"With the gold price decreasing, the customer needed to maintain their competitive advantage in the industry and decided to mine ore from waste material that has already been extracted. This has assisted them to generate additional income to remain sustainable and ensure no loss of jobs. They needed a rapid turnaround and Pilot Crushtec International could comply as their modular equipment is literally ex-stock crushing and screening solutions.

"The plant, which will be commissioned on site by Pilot Crushtec International’s InstalLink team, consists of: a Pilot Modular GFH560 grizzly feed hopper, a Pilot Modular VS350 VSI (160kW) vertical shaft impact crusher, two Pilot Modular 22m MC600 grasshopper conveyors and three Pilot Modular 16mm MC600 conveyors."
