Gleco Oil Company, the official lubricants distributor in Zambia for African energy multinational Engen Petroleum, has set up a second lubricants depot in Ndola, 300 kilometres north of the capital, Lusaka.

Strategic

Collins Simushi, MD of Gleco, says the Ndola expansion is a strategic move to cater to the ever-growing business activity in the country’s famous copper belt region.

“We wanted to be closer to the mining activities, and in particular provide the market with easier access to Engen’s high-quality lubricants. Ndola has undergone massive economic growth, with much infrastructure development and new industry activity.”

Simushi says the new depot is good news for Gleco’s customers. “Previously, some would come all the way to Lusaka, but now we are bringing product right to their doorstep – this is what our customers want.”

“We bring Engen’s promise of putting the customer first to Zambia.”

Good for both

Jean-Blaise Ollomo, the new MD of Engen Zambia, says the Gleco-Engen partnership is good for the guaranteed empowerment of Zambians as the company expands in the country, strengthening the economy.

Kamil de Villiers, Lubricants business manager for Engen’s International Business Division, says, ethical partnerships of this nature is the corner stone of Engen’s business and we are delighted to have excellent well reputed business partners such as Gleco. “Engen is serious about forging meaningful partnerships that not only fully utilise the growth potential, but also make diligent use of local resources and are mindful of the communities and environment we operate in.”

The new depot

“The Ndola depot is now fully operational and offers a wide range of Engen lubricants,” says Simushi.

The company is located on plot no. 783, Makoli Road, opposite the Ndola Golf club.
