Mineworkers Investments Company invests in Technology Solutions Company Optron Group

Optron today announced that black empowerment group the Mineworkers Investment Company (“MIC”) has acquired a 27 per cent equity stake in Optron Group (Pty) Ltd.

In making the announcement, the CEO of Optron Group, Mr Trevor Venter, said that the deal shows the group’s commitment towards black economic empowerment. “We welcome MIC into the Optron Group and look forward to working closely with them towards the empowerment of previously disadvantaged individuals.” 

This is seen as a strategic move by Optron group, which is aligned with its overall long term strategy aimed at creating a shared value that makes positive difference to all its stakeholders.

Mary Bomela, CEO of MIC, said that “MIC is pleased to invest in such a dynamic, growing business, and looks forward to playing an active role in this growth, including continuing Optron’s existing transformation initiatives”
