Partnership key to serving community

UIGC continues to make good on their promise of empowerment through job creation

Accelerating empowerment through sound and sustainable investments and partnerships in mining UIGC Mining has concluded a partnership with a community-based company in the Lebowakgomo area, Duisend Mining and Logistics.

The partnership resulted in the formation of Duisend-UIGC Mining Consortium (DUMC) who’s sole purpose is for the mining of Waste rock from Sibanye Stillwater’s Baobab Platinum Mine in the Lebowakgomo area.

The main product offering incorporate a range of aggregate products which include: Rail Ballast, Base course Materials (G1-G4), Crushed stone (75mm, 37.5mm, 20 mm, 14 mm, 6.7mm), crusher sand and dump rock. An independent laboratory is procured to ensure the quality on all the products is in accordance to the COLTO and SANS specification.

UIGC has stayed true to its local empowerment promise, with creation of local employment and procurement of three local trucking companies contracted to load and haul the raw material from the Mine dump. Through this project UIGC Mining aims to bringing hope to the community while creating a lasting legacy and add-value for the local communities through employment creation, support to local businesses.
