Mining Prospectus magazine caught up with Rand Refinery Chief Executive, Howard Craig, at the 2014 Mining Indaba - after their recent acquisition of the Pagliari Group. Key topics included beneficiation, the push into Africa, sourcing gold, skills and responsible gold.
About Howard Craig: After an early career in the technical civil engineering field, Craig moved into more general business roles. Having led Fraser Alexander Tailings as managing director, he moved to Sasol where he was deployed in various business roles. Amongst others, Craig was the International Marketing Director for Sasol Explosives, the Managing Director of Sasol Mining Initiators and most recently was Chief Operating Officer for Sasol Petroleum International.
Craig has had extensive experience in international operations, particularly in Australia, Chile, Nigeria, Mozambique, Gabon and the USA, covering the mining, upstream oil and gas and fertiliser industries.
